In 3070, a new generation of cutting edge war machinery has arisen on the war torn worlds of the Inner Sphere and the Clans. No doubt you were aware of this, as you fought against many of them personally.
Led by the technological renaissance from the clan invasion and the decoding of the Gray Death memory core, the various arms manufacturers of the Inner Sphere have been able to create ever more interesting and innovative designs that could compete with the clans. More omnimechs had appeared, sometimes using advanced materials that even the Star League did not have.
The clans had not been idle either. Even with their advanced omnimechs, they had realized that the technological gap had narrowed, and wanted to react accordingly. However, most of their new designs came from the home clans, sparked by the conflict raging through clan space as the Star Adders and the Blood Spirits strove to destroy each other.
With the Black Dragon Rebellion, the Taurian Civil War, the Free Worlds League Civil War, and the Word of Blake Jihad, humanity is no closer to peace or unity. These mechs might be the difference between victory and defeat in the coming apocalypse.
