Overview:

Since they took Twycross, the Diamond Sharks have been making inroads into the Inner Sphere arms market, supplying munitions, weapons, and equipment to all buyers on the clan Occupation Zone border. With a huge increase in their revenues, the Diamond Sharks plowed most of the profits back into their industrial base, attaining a manufacturing and construction powerhouse unrivalled by the other clans.
As part of a contract to supply equipment to the battling home clans, the Diamond Sharks came across mention of the Defiler, Ebon Boa, Death Mamba, and Burning Crane standard engine omnimech series, and were much intrigued.
Then, the Sharks heard from their merchants that many of their buyers in the Inner Sphere were ever on the lookout for cheap omnimechs that did not tear too big a hole in their pockets, but were still highly effective on the field. Their own prior experience with the Hauptmann, which was fielded by Archer's Avengers during the Trial of Possession for Twycross, also played a big part in their decision.
The Diamond Sharks did not need any more prompting. The Frenzy broke all records as the design was rushed from concept to completion in under three months.

Capabilities:

Like all its brethren in the standard engine omnimech category, the Frenzy is not as fast as contemporary clan heavy omnimech designs like the Crossbow, Cauldron Born, and the Hellbringer.
What it does have, is a substantial amount of pod space, and incredible endurance that rivals mechs that are often much heavier, granted by the maximum armor coverage on the mech chassis. Meant to be a battle line design for garrison clusters in clan and mercenary units, the Frenzy was eventually so highly regarded by clan commanders that they would use it in elite clusters.
In an interesting development, the Diamond Sharks made sure that the Frenzy could also accept Inner Sphere weapon and equipment packages instead of the clan weapons available through the sales department(their merchants), as well as almost any type of weapons mix from either technological base.
In fact, several Lyran mercenary units had been spotted mounting MRMs, RACs and heavy gauss rifles on their Frenzies. Many clansmen initially scoffed at the inferior Inner Sphere technology, but they quickly changed their minds when several units started using C3 systems on their purchased Frenzies.
The most common configuration employs a mixed loadout. Designed for general combat, it is a multi-purpose loadout with no particular niche.
The Alpha variant is a devilish fire support vehicle, capable of raining down 60 long range missiles for two whole minutes. Noted tactics demand accompanying Narc-capable spotters to enhance its LRM and SRM accuracy. Inner Sphere units have matched their few Frenzy As with units carrying the iNarc system for a truly fearsome combination.
The Beta configuration packs a single large bore autocannon and some heavy lasers, which promise to tear apart anybody who tries to close in. Two ER large lasers offer some token ranged firepower.
The Gamma configuration employs no less than 3 large pulse lasers tied into a targeting computer to savage its foes. With such a loadout, the ECM probe seemed superfluous to many, though it soon became clear that the probe could be replaced by a C3 unit. Some warriors in the other clans, especially the Falcons and Wolves, have accused the Diamond Sharks of allowing the Frenzy to be outfitted with C3 modules. A Frenzy C once managed to destroy three heavy clan omnimechs using a fast moving VTOL as a C3 spotter and having a C3 Master Hauptmann covering the rear.

Deployment

Since its inception, Clan Diamond Shark has been selling the Frenzy in a... well, frenzy. Orders are pouring in from both invading clan and Inner Sphere units alike. The Sharks place sale priorities as their own needs first, next affiliated Warden clans in the Inner Sphere, then mercenary units, and finally everybody else on a first come first serve basis.
Almost a hundred units have been shipped out from the Trellshire Heavy Industries plant on Twycross, and there is every indication that the Frenzy will continue to be well received.
