Overview:

Another revolutionary concept, the Gere is the Lyran's attempt to create an effective quad omnimech.
The Gere is meant to be mobile support for the Freke, a reasonable conclusion given the thematic links between the names of the two mechs.
Built by Arc Royal Mechworks and initially funded by the Kell Hounds before the High Command took charge, the Gere promises to be another mainstay of the Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces.

Capabilities:

The Gere uses one of the new light engines for power, which enhances survivability over XL engines and still allows for modest weight savings.
The skeleton of the mech is endo steel, specially treated and tested extensively to absorb massive shocks from jump deployment. In fact, the entire weight of the mech's interior and exterior is placed in such a way that tries to minimize imbalance should the Gere lose one of its legs, no matter what the configuration.
Able to mount more than 20 tons of equipment, the Gere is an extremely capable machine, exemplifying the merits of omnimech design with its various mission orientated loadouts.

Deployment

Geres are slowly appearing along the Lyran border with the clans since its debut in 3068 on Blair Atholl against the Jade Falcons. Assigned to a variety of units, it has also been sent to the SLDF for trials for inclusion as a standard SLDF fast heavy omnimech.
