Overview:

New Earth Trading Company pushed for yet another assault mech design utilizing components from both the Lyran Commonwealth and the Federated Suns, this time combining the heavy gauss rifle with the targeting computer.
The result is one of the most feared assault mechs ever, the Tartarus.

Capabilities:

An assault mech of the old school, the Tartarus relies on a mix of brute firepower and advanced targeting to bring down its opponents.
The heavy gauss punches holes into its enemy, while the pulse lasers would then carve into the weakened location. It is believed that this tactic is extremely effective against XL engined mechs.
Four extended range medium lasers from Magna Corp provide some back up firepower, but heat problems could result from firing all the energy weapons simultaneously.
The Tartarus is also slightly weaker in armor protection compared to many modern assault mechs, but its protection is still nothing to sneeze at. Coupled with a Guardian ECM system, the Tartarus is a terrifying foe for ambushes and for city combat.
With its standard class engine and lack of explosive ammunition, the Tartarus has excellent endurance.

Deployment

Tartarus have been deployed to the Davion Royal Brigade of Guards and the Lyran Royal Guards. An excellent all round mech design, it is even better in a city fight.
